MaineStream Finance is pleased to offer small and micro business loans to help start up and existing small and micro businesses meet their financing needs:

 

Micro Business Loans

  • Amount:               Up to $50,000
  • Term:                   Up to 20 years
  • Purpose:               Eligible uses of loan funds –
    • Purchase of inventory, equipment, computers or real estate
    • Upgrade of existing equipment 
    • Building renovation & improvements
  • Rates:                             6% to 10%
  • Eligibility:            Borrowers need to have the following –
    • 10 or fewer employees
    • A complete Business Plan
    • If you do not have a Plan, we offer classes to get you started!  Please see information on business education classes below.

If a loan request exceeds our loan limit or does not meet a qualification for funding, we actively partner with other community development organizations that may be of service for that particular loan request.

 

For small business start ups, we recommend participation in MaineStream Finance’s business education classes and workshops such as "Business 101" and  “Incubator Without Walls Program (IWW). The workshop is free and is offered in Penobscot, Piscataquis, Waldo, and Knox County.
