MaineStream Finance offers Homebuyer Education through funds made available by CHAPPA, Maine Housing and USDA.  This class is 12 hours of classroom lecture.  The class is typically required for participation in Maine Housing’s first time homebuyer program as well as a variety of USDA programs and many others.  Homebuyer Education covers such topics as Planning for home ownership, types of financing available, home selection and responsibilities and servicing for both the loan and property.
